Job title: Cutting Operations and Press Brake Draftsman
Department: Production
Reporting to: Production Manager
Hours of work: Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5pm
Salary: £31k+ (dependant on range of experience)
The Candidate
The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for and tasked fundamentally with programming our onsite CNC 3D Waterjet, Flamecutting and Press Brake machines. Training available to learn programming on Laser, Flame and Waterjet machines if not already proficient. The job role will involve supporting sales staff with order confirmations and feedback, and ensuring production efficiency through nesting and time planning.
They will be expected to converse politely and efficiently with all internal staff from the sales
team through to final inspection and dispatch team, in addition to speaking directly to customer to support with technical inquiries.
The ability to work well in a team is essential, but candidates must also be confident to work from their own initiative to problem solve, manage their time and workload effectively, and act in the best interests of the business always.
This requires interpersonal and organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have good Maths and English skills, be computer literate with experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word & Outlook etc).
CAD experience and the ability to read and produce technical drawings is essential, as is experience in programming cutting machines (laser, flame, waterjet) and press brakes. Experience with Solidworks preffered but not essential. Equally experience with manufacturer specific Bystronic, Trumpf and Waterjet Sweden software would stand a candidate in good stead.
Responsibilities
The key responsibility of the successful candidate is to programme the cutting machines and press brakes ensuring efficiencies are achieved throughout the production process whilst supporting the sales team in winning enquiries.
This will include:
- Programming Bystronic Press Brake Operations
- Programming WJS 3D Waterjet Machinary
- Programming Flame cutting machinery
- Efficient part nesting on all sheet sizes for maximum Yield
- Support and problem solve customer queries with the sales team
- Effective time management and proactive organisational skills
- Management of job orders and process scheduling
- Identifying possible production improvements and increasing process efficiencies
Ultimately, a willingness to learn new skills is required as full training will be given to suitable candidates. We hire largely on attitude.

Job title: Technical Sales Engineer
Department: Sales Office
Reporting to: Sales Manager
Hours of work: Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5pm
Salary: £23k to £35k+ (dependant on experience, open to negotiation)
The Candidate
The successful candidate/s will be responsible for and tasked with growing their customer account base and increasing sales within it, as well as having a proactive approach to generating new business customers.
They will be expected to converse politely and efficiently with customers ensuring high expectations are met and will be responsible for taking a lead or enquiry through from point of sale to delivery.
The ability to work well in a team is essential, but candidates must also be confident to work from their own initiative to handle enquiries and manage their own customer base effectively.
This requires b interpersonal and organisational skills with an attention to detail, interacting with both customers directly and all teams internally, such as CAD Drawing, Production and Accounts.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have good Maths and English skills, be computer literate with experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word & Outlook etc).
CAD experience and the ability to read technical drawings is necessary and a reasonable knowledge of metal specifications would also be useful, together with any knowledge of our cutting methods and previous sales experience preferred.
Responsibilities
The main role is to grow sales through direct interaction with existing customers and equally seeking out new business opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for their own account base and customers, building b relationships within them, and ensuring every order placed is to the highest standard. This will include:
- Answer incoming sales calls
- Monitor and respond to customer email enquiries
- Support and problem solve customer queries/challenges at every opportunity
- Build quotes and progress orders dependent on customer requirements
- Maintain a high level of service and reliability throughout all customer contact
- Maintain and grow current customer relationships
- Proactively seek out new business opportunities and convert into orders

Job title: Dispatch Operative
Department: Production
Reporting to: Foreman and Production Manager
Hours of work: 2 Shift Pattern (6am-2pm and 2pm – 10pm)
The Candidate: The successful candidate will be reliable with an eye for detail. Ultimately, they will be the last point of quality checks before the customer receives their order and so must be attentive and effective, ensuring all orders are complete and correct before approving delivery.
General Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Checking customer orders are correct and accounted for.
- Packing parts onto pallets
- Shrink wrapping and packaging orders
- Locating, counting and checking cut parts
- Loading/Unloading lorries
- Customer collections
Experience a preference but not essential, ideally the candidate will possess a valid Fork Lift Truck licence with Overhead Crane experience but again not essential. Pending a successful initial period, we will provide training and licencing for both.
Job title: Operator Assistant and Labourer
Department: Production
Reporting to: Foreman and Production Manager
Hours of work: 3 Shift Pattern (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am)
The Candidate: The successful candidate will be a proactive individual with an eagerness to help and learn the various processes carried out throughout the shop floor. They will be in direct contact with customer orders and will contribute to the high level of quality and service we provide.
General Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Loading material onto machines
- Unloading cut parts and scrap material
- Marking up parts
- Grinding/Cleaning up of parts
- General house keeping and some heavy lifting required.
- Assisting operators with the cutting and management of customer orders.
Experience a preference but not essential, ideally the candidate will possess a valid Fork Lift Truck licence with Overhead Crane experience but again not essential. Pending a successful initial period, we will provide training and licencing for both.
If successful in the role there will be opportunity to progress to various machine operating roles with all necessary training provided by the company.
Job title: Stock Control Assistant
Department: Production
Reporting to: Foreman and Production Manager
Hours of work: 2 Shift Pattern (6am-2pm and 2pm – 10pm)
The Candidate: The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to the throughput of the shop floor and ensuring a reliable service to customers. They will be jointly responsible for the accurate and detailed organisation of stock ensuring the inhouse ERP system is up to date so materials can be effectively fed to the required machines.
General Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Stock control, organisation and handling
- Ensuring a steady flow of material to machines in line with specific order requirements
- Ensure stock is in the correct location and effectively accounted for
- General house keeping
- Fork Lift Truck Licence required.
Experience a preference but not essential, ideally the candidate will possess a valid Fork Lift Truck licence with Overhead Crane experience but again not essential. Pending a successful initial period, we will provide training and licencing for both.
