What is ISO 14001?

The ISO 14001 certification is defined by the international standard for environmental management systems (EMS), instilling sustainable practices within businesses in order to showcase their ongoing commitment to environmental improvements. Implementing the EMS framework ensures that we have made significant progress in understanding sustainable policies, recognising impacts and opportunities, monitoring eco performance, conducting audits and reports, providing staff training and managing our carbon footprint.

Why is ISO 14001 Important?

The ISO 14001 is currently held by over 500,000 companies worldwide, with numbers expected to rise as the push for sustainability is no longer a consideration but rather an expectation. Not only does achieving such accreditation ensure a positive environmental impact, but it has proven to identify efficiency opportunities and reduce expenses. ISO 14001 ensures a globally recognisable symbol of commitment towards eco-practices, developing credibility and showcasing a trailblazer approach towards the future of manufacturing processes.

Our Journey to Sustainability

As part of our sustainable-centric ethos, we have invested in multiple resources in a transition towards clean energy, including our large-scale renewable energy source, installing 1,346 solar panels across our two sites covering approximately 20,000 square feet. We have complemented this in the next phase of our sustainable journey by funding a new fleet of electric forklift trucks. Stepping away from traditional diesel and petrol solutions has greatly benefitted Charles Day Steels, not only as an eco-forward brand but also as one that ensures reliability, lower maintenance, and a healthier environment.

Our dedicated team at Charles Day Steels are committed to the quality of our profile-cutting services, such as laser, flame, waterjet and plasma cutting. We pledge to create sustainable awareness and a positive influence on the future of the manufacturing sector. We ensure that our team remains aware of challenges when tackling waste and harmful emissions, intending to create healthier conditions and meet environmental compliance standards. Charles Day Steels is devoted to our service, the quality we can assure our customers and our guarantee for future sustainable solutions.
